About Us

The New Zealand Pet Nutrition Association was founded in Christchurch, on the rolling plains of Canterbury, New Zealand. After releasing a range of milk powders for pets, founding member PetNZC quickly came to realize that there was a lack of voices advocating for high standards in the global pet nutrition industry. Having realised that many companies also lacked a guiding hand when it came to industry standards, PetNZC and other founding members quickly jumped on the opportunity to collect a team and start an association who had the drive and capabilities to address this problem.

Currently, The New Zealand Pet Nutrition Association advocates for high standards all the way through the supply chain, right from the raw ingredients, through to design and manufacturing. It also focuses on product formulation as well as education of market so that consumers are brought into a deeper understanding of their pet’s needs.

We accept both individuals and corporate bodies as members.

What we are looking for in a member:

Involved in the pet nutrition industry
Passionate about pet nutrition and health
Ideas on how to improve the standards of global pet nutrition
Has skills or experience relevant to achieving association goals
For corporate members: their own pet products or services meet the association’s standards

Membership benefits include being part of a passionate team of people who are driving change in the global pet nutrition industry, having access to a wide variety of people who are experienced in the industry, and boosting your brand image by showing your commitment to high pet nutrition standards. Of course, if you have any of your own industry aims/goal, being part of a team will make it easier to achieve them.

Member Application

The purpose of the NZPNA is to promote higher quality and standards in the global pet nutrition industry.
New Zealand companies manufacturing and blending pet foods may apply to the NZPNA for membership. Other companies or organisations which have an interest in the industry can apply for Associate Membership.
